Are you a registered Nurse looking for a great opportunity? If so, please apply to TWi! We are looking for an experienced Nurse who can oversee our integrated day programs to ensure the medical needs are handled with care.
Summary: Provides quality care to participants at TWi in conjunction with their established nursing protocols and plan of care. Acts as liaison between medical providers, staff, and families or guardians and/or participants to ensure adequate care is provided in conjunction with the plan of care. Delegation of medication administration to the appropriate certified staff within the organization to ensure adequate care of the participants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: Providing quality care to participants. Ability to operate phone and office equipment for business/service, light lifting associated with day to day operations, good communication skills and ability to drive a vehicle.
Performs assessments and treatment for medical emergencies that may arise on site in a prompt, patient, and professional manner. Makes recommendations on plan of treatment and/or the need to contact emergency treatment beyond nursing intervention that can be done on site.
Responsible for developing plans of care based on nursing protocols and monitoring the follow through with the plan of care.
Performs treatments and/or procedures as directed by the physician in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code. Reviews emergency and medical forms for accuracy as needed.
Demonstrates ability and appropriate technical skills when administering treatments and/or procedures in accordance with a physician’s order. Document participant’s response to treatment according to DODD regulations.
Consults with staff, families, physicians and others about the medical needs of the participant regarding to treatments, procedures and instruction to ensure the best care of the participant.
Provides assistance with personal care and/or hygiene at time of treatment (if necessary) and ensures a safe working environment at all times.
Participants in health-related in-service training for staff to maintain compliance with medication certification requirements.
Ensures compliance and quality assurance, when necessary, with all applicable federal, state and local rules, regulations, board policies, and accreditation standards.
Follows Health Department guidelines regarding communicable diseases.

Follows HIPAA regulations at all times with respect to participants protected health information and does not disclose any medical information without prior consent. May be responsible for transportation of participants as directed. Documents nursing care and is compliant with DODD regulations and practice standards. Completes UI/MUI as indicated.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Registered Nurse with a current license. At least three years’ experience nursing, preferably with experience working with participants with an intellectual and/or developmental disability. Preferred experience with nursing delegation responsibilities and familiarity/experience with the rules of the Ohio administrative code for the Ohio Department of DD.
Satisfactory criminal background & Abuser Registry checks and pre-employment drug test. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio vehicle operator license.
All applicants must possess the required registration from the Ohio Department of DD, be eligible for the required registration having completed all the requirements as specified by DODD at the time of the interview, or be willing to complete the requirements for registration as specified by the DODD within the required time frame. Bureau of Criminal Investigation check must result in no felony record. Drug screening must result in no substance abuse.
This position has a base salary of $40,000-50,000 annually based on tenure and DD experience.
