We are a teaching and referral hospital that today provides a variety of exceptional clinical programs and services, including multi-organ transplantation, cardiology, oncology and physical rehabilitation services, maternity, neonatology and emergency/trauma care.

We are seeking and experienced OR Unit Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:
- BSN is preferred
- Must be able to obtain a TX RN Licensure
- 5+ years of experience is required in a OR clinical setting
- Charge nurse experience is preferred
- Must have a strong clinical background in the OR
- BLS and ACLS is required
- Excellent Communication Skills

Our hospital is 150 beds, we have 10 OR suites including Cysto, CVOR and 7 suites designated for general surgery. We average 10-15 cases a day and ranging from general, GYN, orthopedic, spine, bariatrics, colon, urology.

The Unit Supervisor RN works at the direction of the Nursing Management Team on the respective nursing unit; and utilizes the Nursing CARING Model in the delivery of care at the unit level. The Unit Coordinator Nurse takes an active role in mentoring and fostering the Nursing Mission and Vision at the unit level and coordinates care utilizing the CARING model nursing delivery system.

The Unit Supervisor nurse is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating administering and evaluating nursing care for a designated group of patients to ensure delivery of safe and quality care. The Unit Supervisor coordinates and assumes the responsibility of directing the units clinical activities in coordination with the unit manager and/or unit Director/ designee. The Unit Supervisor provides clinical supervision to the nursing staff with regard to policy compliance, support to the nursing staff in the clinical role, acts as a resource nurse and utilizes mechanisms to provide trouble shooting, and conflict resolution at the unit level.
